How Flagstone uses Setyl as its centralised IT asset register

Flagstone upgraded from using a spreadsheet for asset tracking to managing their full asset lifecycle and documentation with Setyl. Thanks to the intuitive interface and integrations into their tech stack, the team can now easily access all IT data in one place and streamline their daily operations.

The context

  • Location: London, UK
  • Industry: Fintech
  • Employees: 280+
  • Assets: 475
  • Software applications: 100+

Based in London, Flagstone is one of the UK’s leading cash deposit platforms, giving savers access to accounts from 60+ banks in one place.

We spoke to Hakan Yeter, Senior IT Support Analyst at Flagstone, about why the IT team opted for Setyl and their experience with the platform so far.

Before Setyl

Before adopting Setyl, Hakan and his team were using an Excel spreadsheet to track their IT assets. However, this came with friction and limitations.

Using a spreadsheet only allowed them to record basic information. It lacked an audit trail, and data could accidentally be removed or inserted at the touch of a button. Filtering and locating information within the spreadsheet was also not always straightforward.

The team were therefore looking for a smoother, centralised solution that also allowed them to record more information about each asset, from vendor details, to leasing information, costs and more.

The solution

After comparing and disregarding other potential solutions, including Asset Panda and EZOfficeInventory, and putting Setyl through a rigorous due diligence process, Hakan and the Flagstone team chose Setyl for its more comprehensive package of features and integrations. The team began the implementation in September 2023.

With out-of-the-box integrations to their existing systems, including Microsoft 365 and Entra, Microsoft InTune and Autopilot, and Jamf, Setyl now acts as Flagstone’s source of truth for IT, combining all sources of information into one place.

The platform offers the team full visibility over all hardware assets, software licences, end users, spend and more related data. It also allows the team to better manage the full lifecycle of assets, differentiate between owned and leased assets, effectively assign and retrieve assets during employee onboarding and offboarding, store all relevant documentation, and create a structure for vendor onboarding and due diligence.

The results

Everything in one centralised platform:

Setyl acts as Flagstone’s centralised information asset register, enabling them to store and access all of their data in one place and simplifying their day-to-day operations.

“Our processes are now much smoother. We know exactly how many devices are out there, who has what, and where they are.”

Intuitive, ready-to-use platform:

“With some of the more expensive and complex IT management solutions, you need a dedicated person to take care of the development. And it can be a disaster if you don't have that level of expertise in your team.

“With Setyl, we just need to concentrate on the data. We upload and administer our asset data, while the Setyl team takes care of the platform functionality and feature development. This means that we can be up and running in weeks rather than in months.”

Fantastic team:

“The Setyl team has been fantastic to work with. I found them to be super friendly and responsive. They take the time to listen and deliver new updates at speed.”
